women’s group applauded for making a difference

National Council of Jewish Women of Canada, Toronto Section (NCJWC-TS) hosted a reception recently welcoming International President  Robyn Lenn from Sydney, Australia, and National President Sharon Allentuck from Winnipeg.

The Consul General of Israel DJ  Schneeweiss, MP Mark Adler and MPP Monte Kwinter applauded the women of both NCJWC-TS and the umbrella organization International  Council of Jewish Women for their efforts in making a difference in the lives of women globally, nationally and municipally. Robyn  Lenn and Sharon Allentuck arrived in Toronto earlier this month directly from the International Executive Meeting in New York City where  delegates from around the world focused on issues such as the status of women, racial and gender discrimination and human trafficking.

The evening ended with Cantor Stein, a native Australian, performing a medley of Hebrew and Yiddish songs.
