The theme of the ICJW 2009 Herczeg Jerusalem Education Seminar was: 'Time and Place: Profound Philosophical Concepts in Judaism' and the program included tours around Jerusalem, examining its past, present and future from a female perspective.
The festive opening of the Conference was hosted by Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat at the International Conference Center on May 17, as part of Jerusalem Education Week. Speakers at the 4-day Seminar included Rabbi Dr. Benjy Lau, Dr. Aliza Lavie, Adv. Talia Livne, Dr. Tova Hartman, and other prominent Israeli academics.
A new bible study project for ICJW's international membershipw was launched at the Seminar. The Bea Zucker Online Bible Study Program, written by Dr. Bonna Devora Haberman, looks at Scripture "through a feminist lens." Click here for more information.
